A little about my little myself

You might know me from real life or blogger but yea.

Anywayyy, I welcome you to my website! It's under constant construction, so it doesn't have a final look. You may stumble upon partially finished stuff, though.

If u don't know me, here's more about me!

• Name: Archie (Archieee)
• Age: I'm 20 years old.
• Pronouns: he/they
• Skills: Web and graphics design, and gnu/linux systems admin. If you happen to have a problem with windows sorry but i can't help, and if it's gnu/linux or stuff i probably can.
• Main operating system: Gentoo Linux, as it's my fav operating system <3
• Init system: I'm part of the OpenRC ganggg lets gooo!!!! no systemd for meeee!!!!
• Window manager, menu, and terminal: dwm, dmenu, and st. I love to keep my little stuff minimal, so that's what i use. Most of the dwm builds I see online have between twenty and forty patches, but mine has only six. My build of dmenu has only the numbers patch, and st has the alpha and scrollback patches.
• Fav music: idk but i love h3nce, 1nonly and odetari. They soothe my kitty soul so warm. I also listen to nirvana, rock, pop and everything lol
• Web browser: Firefox, and only firefox. Google chrome is proprietary, so i will not use it.
• Text editor: I use the vim text editor.

This site is written entirely in HTML and CSS because learning anything else would take my little myself so much time and effort, plus the modern internet is bloated af, it's such a javascript mess, and i don't have that much time for now (i'm just a high school student, so...)

I have this site because i want to express myself more freely, and because i'm just a kid figuring their life and stuff out! <3

Anyone can (and definitely should) have a website so they can put silly stuff on it and express themself.

I love messing around with virtual machines, alt/obscure/niche operating systems, spending time with my family, and sleeping a lot, i'm a sleepy kitty <3

I love soft pink so much, it's my fav color!!

I absolutely love sparkles, so basically anything glitter-related soothes my kitty soul.

I enjoy watching sunsets, riding my bike, and other stuff. <3

I love boys so much, they're so sweet, pretty and loving <3

And of course i love computing. messing around with unix, gnu/linux and whatever.

I love playing videogames, too! My fav ones are Minecraft, GTA San Andreas, Quake (specifically the darkplaces graphics enhancement, i can run it smoothly on my UHD graphics with gfx on max)... I also like The Ultimate Doom, Half-Life and stuff.

When not writing/logging here, i use my laptop, and when not on my laptop, i ride my bike thru my neighborhood, spend time with my family, i go out...

My main laptop is the asus vivobook 15 x1504va. Since 2026-07-07, it runs the Gentoo Linux operating system with dwm and my little stuff.

Because basically, my older laptop (a Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15IGL7) was giving me A LOT of problems, it was a literal headache. It would unload the graphics kernel module by itself and leave me with nothing but software acceleration, and the processor was really shitty, lmao who uses two cores/two threads at one point ten ghz and weak integrated graphics enough to try displaying a pixel and crash, and let alone in 2026? peak nonsense. By the way, the last known operating system of that laptop was Gentoo Linux amd64 with the "Linux 6.18.18-gentoo-myself" custom kernel (silly me messing around with the kernel name, aww i love myselffff aaaaaaaaaa) and it ran the bspwm window manager mostly well (lost all my configs due to not backing them up), so.

I chose the specs very wisely, because i didn't want the laptop to be e-waste in a year or so.

These are the specs of my laptop:

• Make and model: ASUS Vivobook 15 X1504VA (BQ078W)
• CPU: 13th Gen Intel Core i3-1315U (6 cores, 8 threads, 8 logical processors total)
• iGPU: Intel UHD Graphics (xe kernel driver)
• RAM: 16 GB (dual channel)
• Storage: 512 GB NVMe SSD (SAMSUNG MZVL8512HELU-00BTW KXJ72W1Q) (nvme kernel driver, btrfs root)
• Wi-Fi: Intel Corporation Wi-Fi 6E AX210 (iwlwifi kernel driver)

GNU/Linux feels more logical and concise to my little myself, it's clean, there is no program files mess, no nonsense stuff like x86 popping up in 2026...

By the way, GNU/Linux and pretty much every other operating system works perfectly now, the only thing holding me back from them was the damn mediatek wifi card, but now it's finally gone from my sight and from my laptop.

But I don't think I'll be switching to anything else anytime soon, it works for me, and that's it. And, finally, hardware acceleration works, and this is my OpenGL renderer string:

• Gentoo, dwm, btrfs and stuff are all soo good fr no cap. specially gentoo's efficiency and dwm's minimalism, it's unmatched.
• I love sparkling water so much
• Open, clean systems are the best
• Soft pink is so warm and beautiful, it's soul-soothing
